apps for photographers

Postby labbe5 » 17 May 2013, 16:37

In my opinion, apps for photographers are somehow a rare thing. Except for the obvious Image Viewer, rarely do we see, as a main feature, an app such as Digikam, which do everything you need with photographs, convert raw files, enhance jpegs, manage albums, with lots of effects. Simargl had the good will to add Darktable in the repository, and i thank him for that. Darktable is not well known yet, but developers do a pretty good job maintaining it. It is fast developing. It would be nice to keep an eye open for future development, and do an update from time to time. Each new version brings Darktable close to perfection.

Thanks for all your good work.

Next version will be based on Arch, so you can use darktable from their repository ;). I think it's good idea to switch packages maintaining responsibility to Arch developers  and just follow them from safe distance, no need to duplicate efforts.
