Manjaro - SpaceFM

I've recently tried Manjaro openbox which has some similarities to Alpha OS. Their menu seems to be slightly tidier. In the end I hit a brick wall - I could choose 1024 x 768 resolution but windows would still maximize to 800 x 600 :geek:

on a separate note - on Alpha OS spacefm still to take a while to start - anyone else experience this?

My SpaceFM opens rather fast.

perhaps sometimes when I have a tab with a lot of files an directories
there is a short delay.

I got one idea it may be checking for a floppy drive that isn't there.

Open a linux terminal and run spacefm from there possibly in verbose mode. Maybe you can find a hint looking at it's log.
Just gave Marv the same advise on gnome-mplayer issues because sometimes it can really be helpful.
Cheers

Good thinking. I've done that in the past - obviously didn't have my trouble shooting hat on 8-)

spacefm is slow on my other machine too (although slightly faster),
Processor : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
Memory : 2073MB (234MB used)

tried running in terminal, no errors reported.

I've reverted to using ROX. 8-)

Wait a minute. SpaceFM can't be slow on a PC with such good specs.
I've run SpaceFM on much slower PCs and SpaceFM has never been slow.

the main slowness is when launching it, not actually using it. maybe Ive got something miss firing in the configuration of the computers :?

darkcity,

what if you disable floppy drive, will spacefm then start faster?
