Do you consider windows malware?

Postby Scooby » 14 Aug 2014, 21:52

I was gaming in windows and when I restarted, alphaOS wouldn't run
windows had corrupted MFT :(

Could not reach sda1 where I had all my alphaos dirs
luckily I had an old alphaos which I modded for boot from iso set up :D

booted to it and ran ntfsfix and it worked :!:

got a scare, now I'm gonna back up my stuff for sure

No consideration of windows malware here.
Only Linux and MacOS in this household.
Have to use Windows 7 at work, but malware is taken care of by corporate software.

Believe me, malware/spyware and viruses are never taken care by corporate software.
There is no single software that can effectively take care of > 90% of all that crap.
Besides they're all CPU hogs. The only way of effectively get rid of all that is using *nix/*BSD.
So yes, I find Windows to be malware, at least to some degree.

Tell me about it. Sometimes the Xeon workstation slows down so much, that it reminds me of the good old 80' switching on the 286 workstation before fetching some coffee in the lunchroom. (... and hoping it finished booting when back)

Exactly, and I'm glad MacOS is based on BSD :)
