Some good news!

Postby Scooby » 04 Sep 2015, 20:58

Posting now from alphaos 17

Code: Select all

]# uname -a
Linux alphaos 4.1.6-ALPHAOS #1 SMP Thu Aug 27 21:35:58 UTC 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Code: Select all

]# cat /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
# WARNING! Do not edit this file if you want stable system!
Server = http://seblu.net/a/arm/2015/08/25/$repo/os/$arch

sidenote:
Also firefox 40 wants to present me links on a new tab from its ascociates, WTF!!!
Probably could be configured but it's out as a default browser, using midori now

are there any pure gtk3 browsers out there???

With a lot of problems I am at least this far but to come here I had to apply a lot of hacks
so this is very much a work in progress.

To get a notion my frugal tree now looks like this

Code: Select all

]# tree .
.

When this is tidied up plus I got to solv keyboard not working with pure evdev I will upload a copy

very exciting news
re: the browser issue i think mozilla took a wrong turn somewhere and has been going in the wrong direction for some time
i've been using chromium for it's sleek but full featured performance and i hear they are moving away from gtk dependency

I will not include browser so you can use what you like.

I will provide midori as a separate bundle so its a
little easier to start.

There is still plenty of work o to get alphaos 17 stable.
