Which init system would you use?
Systemd, runit or OpenRC?
Well the whole point of vdev is to have a compliment to udev that doesn't
require Systemd
So if I would run systemd it would not make sense to run vdev.
Udev is fully assimilated into systemd now so if you want Systemd
go with udev.
Anyway I don't like Systemd meself.
I would keep busybox init, which we are using now. it works for me.
What is your preference, Do you have experience with other inits?
efgee wrote:Arch should be agnostic no matter what init or dev software is used.
That's the problem with systemd, it makes it hard to be agnostic
Arch has adopted systemd
efgee wrote:Do you consider to use another distro as the base?
Only if I cannot use packages without systemd running on pid 1
efgee wrote:Personally I like arch very much.
me too
You could maintain a Systemd version if you like
