Scooby,

I found an "item of interest". ** sysrq **

cat /proc/bus/input/handlers

fgrep "^H" /proc/bus/input/devices

I bet the developer would be interested in this info!!

Scooby,

Lsmod has both psmouse and evdev running. Two mouse drivers?
Maybe you control them with config files (if possible).

The report on two drivers was that on your machine or did you read my logs that
I posted earlier?

I have touchpad and mouse. Anyway evdev is called first but I believe it can load other drivers?
will check

I don't know if you read the.bug report.on github but I am fairly certain the bug is down to vdev not
setting ID_INPUT for usb mouse. With that not set evdev will totally ignore this device.

why vdev is ignoring it I will have to debug. Maybe vdev uses old detection code from udev.

The reason it works for Jude may come down to that he is using an older kernel??
maybe sysfs changed somehow so vdev doesn't detect correctly anymore.

we'll have to investigate further.

Sorry to hear it doesn't work for you.

vdevd don't create log file in early hook, it's very strange, i have take a look on util.c and i find something very strange (according to my poor knowledge about C)

Code: Select all

FILE* f = NULL;

for me need to be

Code: Select all

FILE *f = NULL;

i don't tested yet this version because i'm updating some packages for obarun repo(qt5 still compiling, almost 3hours to compil pffff). but i will test it as soon as finished.

note : libusb was updated, pershaps something change, i will see.

EDIT: i was made some stupid errors on the pkgbuild, it was updated. changing the pointer don't do anything. impossible to create the log. i have tested with an existing file within the initramfs, but again don't change anything, i don't understand where is my error. Directories are a correct permissions, the initramfs was mounted with rw permissions. Really i don't understand.

A tough one, perhaps revert to printing to screen to debug the log-file error, I mean just to get the
log file going.

got it!!!!

hook works now for me. So the modules need to be loaded before launching vdevd!!!! Really is not a good practice, vdevd which load automaticly the necessary modules should be better, but it work.

Well no mouse no keyboard under X. the ram used is so big for the moment and the time to boot ...... worse (20s to be under console, 7s with udev) lol. i need to more work to integrate it correctly in my init with runit.

so step by step it should be work properly.

edit: pkgbuild on my github was updated

time is about the same for me. I was hoping work to speed it up would come after v1.0 is released.
