Hey Mate,

Nahh haven't tried it yet but it's a very small commit regarding owner, group and permissions of /dev/snd/timer

Mr Nelson is very busy at the moment it seems. Other things in his life prevents him from working with vdev.

Nothing to do with "stupid" if I know Mr Nelson. He was always happy to answer my "stupid" questions.
I think he plain and simple have no time or energy to put in right now.

I feel the same way, in a perfect world we would have time to do everything we want todo.

I thought you ran obarun on eudev and vdev was experimental for the next generation
of your OS. Anyway would be good to get it working in a stable manner.

right :)

i'm under a project called obarun-server providing all the necessary to make a OS for server maintenance, (apache, php, ldap and so one) with runit for service manager and webmin for interface configuration.
Vdev for me would be a great deal on it :)

I don't know how straight off the top of my head, I've never done it.
I'll check though and if I find something I'll report back.

If you test anything more with vdev I urge you to recompile with the fix suggested in
https://github.com/jcnelson/vdev/issues/81

Path to which to log information.\n\
Pass 'syslog' to log to syslog, instead of a logfile.\n\

I tried it with

Code: Select all

vdevd  -l syslog -c /etc/vdev/vdevd.conf /dev

It started with no visible output in terminal window.
it reacts to hotplug events but
I get no data in system log

I am using metalog

Okay that didn't work, just found a file called syslog in the dir where I issued the command
got to check src files
