I have rebuilt a whole lot of packages without systemd
Will package and release an ISO with fixes as soon as I get time

All issues have not been solved but this will be an incremental release I guess.

added spacefm-git-20150919 in hope next branch includes the wanted patch

*EDIT*

Made a local test.

user 999 instead of alpha is fixed, also gmp-video now works without libsystemd.

spacefm works but dunnow how to activate dark theme so inconclusive.

usb mouse don't work will report to jcnelson at github

I made a test of recursive ldd -v in /usr/bin and /usr/lib
and found only lirc package to still have dependendencies on systemd

lirc - linux infrared remote control

is this something that are widely used or was it something that Sim used
and therfore was added?

I guess my question is, can it be removed?

It might be a dependency of movieplayer.

Guess I will recompile it

Hi,

I am not much for posting, but I think I can give anyone who boots to a "dead" usb mouse
info to create useful upstream feedback.

1. Boot to the command line only.

2. type in the following: lsusb -v | egrep -i "^bus|unavailable"

3. You should see maybe a half screenful of text.

4. Look for lines that say "unavailable". The other lines are the device id lines.

5. The "unavailable" line with double asterisks should be your lifeless usb mouse!
It is on mine. Logitech lx3 optical mouse, device = 046d:c044.

6. File logs and whatever upstream. (All the "unavailable" lines are probably bugs).

Anybody

If you have downloaded 17.1, and have a dead USB mouse, reboot to the command line prompt.

Enter: dmesg | egrep -i 8086:27b8

If you get any output, this problem might be an Intel ICH7 Southbridge chipset Driver bug.

I will provide more info if anyone else has this problem, and ACTUALLY REPORTS it here!!

Reporting it is the only it can be fixed!

Thanks

Thank you for taking your time to post
Be aware that there are not that many users active here.

I tried your suggestion and got no output with failing USB mouse.

My USB works if I boot with udev but not with vdev
That makes me fairly certain that the problem lies in vdev.

Vdev is in beta

I reported the issue here
https://github.com/jcnelson/vdev/issues/71

hello,

i'm the creator of obarun.org
first, thank for your work and your projects, it's very interesting. i tried your system and no mouse  .

so i will test vdev on my system too but i have a little problem to implement hook for vdev in my initramfs. Could you please tell me how you make it for your system?

perhaps it's a stupid question but....
