Someone created AlphaOS on Github

Thought that simargl kept AlphaOS on GitHub , but obviuosly not; it's somebody else  Anyhow, AlphaOS on Github seems to be build on top of Antergos, although don't know how much of (our) AlphaOS is in there. Pretty quiet around here nowadays... And tons of spam  Hope a moderator will see...

What kind of settings did you set?
Did you create a save-file?
Please provide more information if you want us to help you.

Re: complete install

I did not use that either, as I installed it manually. Using several Linux systems on my machine and didn't want to "automatically" screw it up. However If I remember correctly I created a "custom" grub2 cfg file so the "normal" cfg file would find it automatically, and...

Re: alphaos virtualbox

Just create a new OS in VirtualBox as you would do it for any other OS.
Choose Linux arch 64 as OS platform and name it alphaOS.
Download the alphaOS ISO and link the ISO file to the CD drive as you would do it for any other OS.
Start alphaOS.
Enjoy.

Re: Douane Personal Linux Firewall

Sorry, but I cannot report success.
Was not able to start the service properly.

Also, due to certain circumstances I'm unable to devote the same time for my hobbies as I did in the past. Real life got in the way.

Re: Next version of alphaos

*edit* from here "By 'full persistence' it is meant that instead of using a tmpfs for storing modifications to the read-only media (with the copy-on-write, COW, system) a writable partition is used. In order to use this feature a partition with a clean writable supported filesystem on it label...

Not sure about this one, as it's not a "must have" feature for me.

BTW: Debian Live did it automatically. There was nothing I had to initiate...

Re: Next version of alphaos

What are the advantages of savefolder? Main advantage as I understand it is not having to specify a file size in advance (and resizing it when it becomes too small or wasting space by making it too large): http://puppylinux.org/wikka/SaveFile . Would be nice but I understand if it is not a top prio...

Re: Next version of alphaos

Conman works for me without any problems. However I've never tried peasywifi, so it could work as well. It seems I'm not a big help in this regard... Anyhow, IMHO the security aspect of alphaOS is debatable. Many would argue that an OS that always runs as root with no need of a password is not reall...
