How to change kernel

Ok, I have done a lot of testing with the cpu temperature. It turns out that none of the alphaOS releases has been working ok on my laptop. And besides my laptop I now have another case: my wife's netbook. Both computers tested with alphaOS 4, 5, 6 and 7 and neither have the CPU fan working up until...

Re: Wireless connection in 7.0

Still trying to fight this.
Just tried alphaOS 4, 5, 6 and even archpup 13.2 and none of them had this issue.
simargl: help! :D

Re: Wireless connection in 7.0

Hi Marv. Thanks for the reply. Numlock I never thought it would be a .start line just needing me to edit it. 7.0 doesn't seem to be quite as stable as earlier releases, huh? Hmmm, I wouldn't mind using the older 5/6 LFS approach releases. I was even getting pretty well used to spkg. Heck, I wouldn't...

Come on guys, I really need a hand here.
Restarting wpa_supplicant doesn't do the trick for me :(

Re: LXDE is moving from GTK+ to Qt

I have seen many programmers moving from GTK+ to Qt and this is something that has been worrying me for the past year. You see, I love the look'n'feel of GTK+ apps and to be honest I don't like the look'n'feel of Qt that much. Apparently for programmers it doesn't have anything to do with the look'n...

Re: noob questions

Makes sense.
I don't think savefile can be upgraded even on puppy.
Rule of thumb for me is to create a new savefile on every upgrade of puppy/alphaOS.

Re: Version for 64 bits machines

Simargl has said that he doesn't have a 64bit PC.
Without a 64bit PC he can't compile a 64bit kernel...

Re: noob questions

Are you using a savefile from a previous alphaOS install?
I'm not sure that is supported...

Re: Wireless connection in 7.0

Unfortunately in my case it still does not work. I am running the 22/05 build of 7.0 and even if I restart wpa_supplicant and hit the refresh button I still don't see any wireless networks. Big bummer :( Here's Pwireless2 log after having reset wpa_supplicant: wpa_supplicant v2.0 Successfully initia...
