Re: Wireless connection in 7.0

Good tip. Will try Roam and Refresh many times. This didn't help so I google and googled a lot. Until I found someone at murga mentioning rfkill. So I rebooted into windows 7 (to regain wifi radio...), rebooted again to ArchPup (with wifi radio working again) and installed rfkill via pacman -S rfki...

Re: Wireless connection in 7.0

Has this wifi issue been solved? I've been using ArchPup instead of alphaOS for some time due to cpu heating problem. Yesterday I tried to boot alphaOS 8 and I found myself unable to use wifi. In fact, when I rebooted to ArchPup I still couldn't use wifi. So I booted win 7 and found out that wifi wa...

Re: How to change kernel

Hi simargl. I don't have a save file (yet). But even so, I did as you advised me and I booted with pfix=ram. Didn't help, I still got stuck during bootup. I will try to check on distro_specs. But I guess I'll need a detailed help to find where those are stored. :( Many thanks for keep helping me wit...

Re: How to change kernel

Many, many, many, many thanks for your help simargl. Your help was invaluable. But the system doesn't boot :(. First it complained about not being able to find archpup_132.sfs. Then I renamed alpha_80.sfs by archpup_132.sfs and it seemed like it was going to boot up but then it got stuck in "pe...

Re: alphaOS 7.0

3.1) make folder with name linux As stated on my previous message, I think it would be easier if someone experienced on alphaOS could give me a hand on these last steps through either IRC or MSN/Jabber. For instance, where shall I make the above mentioned "linux" folder? Inside the newly ...

Re: alphaOS 7.0

I am sorry but due to health reasons I am only able to test this today... delete /lib/modules/3.9 copy /lib/modules/3.4 from archpup, and compress sfs file again Inside of /lib/modules of ArchPup there is a folder named 3.4.28-ARCHPUP Inside of /lib/modules of AlphaOS there is a folder named 3.8.x-A...

Re: alphaOS 7.0

I promise I will try this but I will need time (to keep focused on your instructions) and tonight just doesn't seem like my little daughter is going to allow me some time to try it  .
BTW, those bitbucket repos need a command called 'hg'. Does alphaOS come with that command?

Re: Wireless connection in 7.0

Aha! Now I'm starting to get it. This makes me ask for the impossible (that I already asked in the announcements thread): would you teach me/us build alphaOS from scratch as if you were explaining it to a 6yo child  ? That way I would try to compile a 3.4 kernel and see if that cures my cpu...

Re: alphaOS 7.0

Listen, I'm not saying it's due to kernel. But you had said it yourself (on freeforums forum) that we were using the same kernel since the beginning. Well, yes, we had been using the same since you named the project alphaOS because prior to that, in the ArchPup days, we had been using a different se...
