Re: New BIG top bar missing buttons?

It's called HeaderBar in the GTK/Gnome world. Obviously it was originally developed with Gnome in mind. Double-click on the HeaderBar (on empty spot) should maximize it. Another double-click should make the window return to the former size. Don't know though if OpenBox is capable of doing this... Su...

Re: How to cleanly remove special apps?

yeah! if its system config files you cannot just delete them, I think you have to do it by hand. That's what I figured as well. How would you know which app changed which system configfile and to what state you should return it to. The only way I can think of is to restore the system config files t...

Re: How to cleanly remove special apps?

I this very important? config files usually are not that big? and it could be good to still have your personal settings next time you activate the same bundle. Yes it is, because a user normally doesn't know which config files are being touched while installing an app. In my case I lost audio and n...

How to cleanly remove special apps?

If an app is installed with makesb a software bundle is created. It can be loaded automatically or activated/deactivated manually, which is great. If you want to delete it, just deactivate it and delete the sb file. But what if during the install of the app config files were changed? Just saving the...

SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

While reading this post please keep in mind that since I found alphaOS in late December 2013 - it's my primary OS. http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=3056&start=30#p21677 How come Arch isn't considered?... Yes, that is good idea! And what else might be good idea is switch to new l...

I got gparted with:

Code: Select all

makesb gparted

Then I was able to partition the disk to my liking.

After that I followed the install instructions found in the menu:

Re: Vala programming

Just be aware that some documentation is old and not updated. (especially information in regards to Vala code). BTW: I'm trying to get to get GetDesktopAppInfo to work properly with Vala but any attempts to find proper Vala documentation about this was not satisfying. What I tried to do is to use th...
