Re: alphainst.sh

alphainst.sh 0.19 https://rof.li/p/1432 Final release. Downgrade to MBR and Windows <8 compatibility at will. I see your points john, but I'm done with that kind of management. Meeting the ArchWiki was a revelation for me, where I ought to take responsibility for myself. If I wanted a polished syst...

md5sum.exe and sha1sum.exe from the Cygwin project gives me:

Re: alphainst.sh

Okay, so just tested at Windoze. It still doesn't support mounting it, I think as it's GPT, idk. What do y'all think? MBR all the way, and screw UEFI? @Johnny: It's very easy. As alphaOS is the first listed derivative over at the ArchWiki , I think many will visit the homepage, just to check out wha...

Re: alphainst.sh

Move to SYSLINUX Move to FAT32 After poking around, I admit that I was wrong about GRUB. It's GNU, it's versatile and it's huge. That's usually fantastic, but you don't need a truck where you can use a hammer. Especially when you barely have room for the nails. So, I took the time to move to SYSLIN...

Re: Let's freshen this OS up!

I'd like to propose a new terminology. Without any need for explanation, I give you: simprovement So, to use this wonderful word right away, I can note that ⋅ Taeni getting Ctrl+T support would definitely be a simprovement. ⋅ Alt+F2 still pops "Failed to execute child proces...

Re: alphaOS 15.0 - 15.2

If this question was for me unfortunately, the English language has the same term for single you and plural you. I meant you, as in all y'all alphaOS users :) sim added an entry for win7 though, no? it's not a real win7 entry, it's a chainload entry to whatever is at the first hard drive (like in s...

Re: alphaOS 15.0 - 15.2

I agree, detection would be nice. add it. (tip: os-prober doc)

do you install at HDD or USB? I can't see the point of detecting other systems if installing for USB, though would be nice for HDD install. I use for USB only.

Re: alphaOS 15.0 - 15.2

V15.2 is running quite well here except that Grub2 is unable to detect other systems on different partitions of the same hard disk. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Cheers. I haven't tried alphaOS 15.2 but generally, after adding the new menu entry to etc/grub.d/40_custom, what you would...

Re: alphaOS 15.0 - 15.2

so, it seems I should chime in. the installer does not autodetect anything, it is merely generated for alphaos, and sim wisely decided to add an entry for any local Windows as well. the 'Windows 7' entry should boot whatever you want to boot, I reckon. if this is not sufficient, you could just edit ...
